Zlatograd

( Also written Zlatograd, Bulgarian Златоград to German Gold City) Slatograd is a town in southern Bulgaria close to the Greek border. The city is the seat of the municipality and is located in the District / Oblast Smolyan.

Location

Slatograd located in the eastern Rhodope Mountains in the valley of the river Warbiza. The city is located about 300 km southeast of the Bulgarian capital Sofia, 70 km east from Skikurort Pamporovo and about 5 km from the Bulgarian- Greek border crossing Slatograd - Thermes.
