Zoltán Kővágó

Zoltán Kővágó ( born April 10, 1979 in Szolnok ) is a Hungarian discus thrower.

The Junior World Champion 1998 won at the 2001 U23 European Championships. He finished seventh at the 2002 European Championships in Munich.

At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, he was initially in third place and then moved up to the silver medal, as the first place winner, his compatriot Róbert Fazekas was disqualified under the Anti-Doping Rules.

At the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 2005 he was tenth at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka ninth. His longest jump he achieved on 25 May 2006 in Salon- de -Provence with 69.95 meters.

In July 2012, shortly before the Olympic Games in London, Kővágó was blocked in accordance with a judgment of the International Sports Court refused in August 2011 because of a doping test for two years. His verge obtained at the European Championships bronze medal was stripped.

Kővágó was 2001, 2004 and 2005 Hungarian Champion. He has a contest weight of 127 kg at a height of 2.04 m.
