Zucchius (crater)

Zucchius is a striking impact crater near the southwestern edge of the moon 's front panel. It is located south-southwest of the crater Segner and northeast of the much larger crater Bailly. In the southeast of the crater Bettinus emerging.

The rim of Zucchius is symmetrical and shows little signs of erosion. Because of its position it appears from Earth by optical distortion greatly elongated. The interior walls are terraced and a group of low summit forms an arc around the center of the crater floor. The crater was probably in the Copernican period, ie within the last 1.2 billion years, is formed.
