The ... Baby One More Time tour was the first concert tour of the U.S. pop singer Britney Spears. With this tour, which took place only in the U.S. and Canada, Spears campaigned for her debut album ... Baby One More Time.

Overview

The tour was announced in March 1999 and the data was released a month later. Tommy Hilfiger was chosen as sponsor of the tour. An extension of the tour, with the name " Crazy 2K Tour" was announced in December 1999. The sponsor for the extension were Got Milk? and Polaroid. The concept and the costumes were designed by Spears. The stage was changed at the beginning of the extension to incorporate pyrotechnics and special effects in the show.

The show was divided into different segments. The set list consisted of songs from their debut album and many cover versions, including Madonna and Janet Jackson. After the extension of the tour, the cover versions were songs of Spears' second studio album Oops! I Did It Again ... replaced. The tour received positive reviews from many critics. During the tour, Spears has been charged for their playbacks, although she denied these claims. A show of the tour was recorded and aired on FOX. An official DVD called Live and More! was also published.

Background

On 5 March 1999 it was reported that Spears would be planning their first concert tour to support their first studio album. Shortly thereafter, she announced that the tour would start in June. On 12 May 1999 Tommy Hilfiger was announced as the sponsor of the tour. During this time the announcement Spears was shown in the " AllStars " campaign of the company. Hilfiger said of the support saying: " My passion for music has always inspired my designs. This year we have really put music to the forefront of everything we do. Britney represents the spirit of Tommy jeans and by the youth today. I can not think of anything better than to continue this exciting year in which I promote one of today's hottest young pop artists. "

The second sponsor should be Nestlé. The company got out but as provocative pictures of Spears, who were shot by David LaChapelle, had been published in Rolling Stone. On 9 April 1999, the dates of the tour of Pollstar were published. The tour started on 28 June 1999 in Pompano Beach, Florida.
