1942 Copa del GeneralÃsimo
The Generalísimo Cup 1942 was the 39th edition of the Spanish Football Cup competition, which takes place today under the name Copa del Rey.
The contest started on April 26 and ended with the final on 21 June 1942 at the Estadio Chamartín in Madrid. Defender of the Cup competition was Valencia. The title was won by the CF Barcelona a 4-3 success after extra time in the final against Atlético Bilbao.

After Generalissimo Francisco Franco arrived ten minutes after the game starts in the main grandstand, referee Manuel Ocaña interrupted the game. In response, the players of both teams turned to the dictator and greeted him with frenetic " Franco, Franco, Franco " chants of the audience with his arm raised.
