1988–89 Copa del Rey
The Copa del Rey 1988/89 was the 85th edition of the Spanish Football Cup Copa del Rey.
The competition started on August 31, 1988 and ended with the final on 30 June 1989 at the Estadio Vicente Calderón ( Madrid). Defender of the cup competition was the FC Barcelona. The title was won by Real Madrid a 1-0 victory in the final against Real Valladolid. As Real Madrid in the 1988/89 season in parallel secured the participation in the European Champion Clubs' Cup, the starting place for the European Cup winners Real Valladolid fell to 1989/90.
