1985 IAAF World Indoor Games
The IAAF World Indoor Games 1985 ( World Indoor Games ) were held on 18 and 19 January 1985 at the Palais Omnisports in Bercy district of the French capital Paris.
15 years after the first official Indoor Athletics Championships organized by the World Association of Athletics Federations IAAF World Indoor games the. After the organization of athletes and associations was adopted, regularly IAAF World Indoor Championships were held in 1987. The World Indoor Games in 1985 are now considered official precursor competition and be counted in statistics of the IAAF.
It took a total of 322 athletes from some 69 countries, which reached athletes from 43 countries and a finale athletes from 22 countries won medals.
The only indoor world record, Thomas Schönlebe on in 45.60 s in the 400 -meter run.

Joseph Chesire, the Olympic Fourth of Los Angeles, blew up the field in the third round and had up to 25 meters ahead. Hillardt overtook the Kenyans before the final curve, and González sprinted to the finish line past him.

The 20 -year-old Sjöberg and the 17 -year-old Sotomayor remained to 2.30 m without mistrial. The decision to Sjöberg fell after midnight; Sjöberg tried after his victory at the Halle still world record of 2.38 m, but failed three times.
Pole vault

In the early morning hours of 20 January, the World Indoor Games came to an end after the pole vault competition lasted over five hours. Vigneron failed three times at the end of 5.80 m, Serhiy Bubka failed three times at 5.86 m. Bubkas outdoor world record at that time was at 5.91 m.
With the Bubkas won a pair of brothers medals.
