1986–87 European Cup

The European Champions' Cup 1986/87 season was the 32nd edition of the competition. 31 national champion took part, including the defending champions Steaua Bucharest. The Austrian capital Vienna and the Prater Stadium was on May 27, 1987 venue for the final.

The participants played in the pure Cup mode (except for the final) round-trip games for the crown of European club football. In Torgleichstand first counted the greater number of away goals scored; there was also this a tie, the second leg was extended and, if appropriate, immediately then discharged a penalty shootout to decide.

First round

Bye: Romania 1965 Steaua Bucharest

The first legs took place on September 17, the return matches on September 30 ( vs Vitkovice. Paris) / October 1, 1986 instead.

2nd round

The first legs were held November 5, 1986 October 22, the return games.

Quarterfinals

The first legs took place on 18 March 1987 on the 4th, the return games.

Semifinal

The first legs were held April 22, 1987 on the 8th, the return games.
