1992–93 ECHL season
The 1992/93 season was the fifth regular season of the East Coast Hockey League ( ECHL ). The 15 teams completed in the regular season of 64 matches. The point of best team in the regular season were the Wheeling Thunderbirds, while the Toledo Storm won in the play-offs, their first Riley Cup ever.
- 3.1 Pre- Playoffs
Team changes
The following changes were made before the start of the season:
- The Winston -Salem Thunderbirds have been to Wheeling, West Virginia, relocated and played from now on under the name Wheeling Thunderbirds.
- The Roanoke Valley Rebels changed their name to Roanoke Valley Rampage.
- The Cincinnati Cyclones were transferred to the International Hockey League.
- The Birminingham Bulls were added as an expansion team in the league.
