2000–01 ECHL season
The 2000/01 season was the 13th regular season of the East Coast Hockey League ( ECHL ). The 28 teams completed in the regular season per 72 encounters. The point of best team in the regular season were the Trenton Titans, while the South Carolina Stingrays won their second Kelly Cup overall in the play- offs.

Team changes
The following changes were made before the start of the season:
- The Huntington Blizzard stopped the game operation.
- The Jacksonville Lizard Kings stopped the game operation.
- The Hampton Roads Admirals were transferred to the American Hockey League and played in this from now on under the name Norfolk Admirals.
