2001 Oceania Club Championship

The OFC Champions Cup 2001 was the third sending a oceanic Champions competition for club teams in football after two years break and took place from 9 to 22 January 2001, eleven clubs from eleven countries in the Lloyd Robson Stadium in Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea instead. The teams came from American Samoa, Australia, Cook Islands, Fiji, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Western Samoa, Tahiti, Tonga and Vanuatu. The team qualified due to their rankings in the national championship. The competition was played in a round robin tournament with two groups of six and five teams and a subsequent knockout round. The two group best qualified for the semifinals.

The winner Wollongong Wolves from Australia was qualified as a representative of Oceania for the FIFA Club World Cup in Spain in 2001, but which do not take place.

In the course of the tournament, it was found that 7 players of FC Pansa were not eligible to play, so the first two games were canceled and subsequently counted 2-0 for the opponent. In the third game Panza FC was not to provide a complete team in the situation. Then the club was before the fourth game eliminated from the tournament.
