2003 WTA Tour Championships
The WTA Championships 2003 ( also known as Bank of America WTA Tour Championships presented by Porsche ) was an indoor tennis hard court tournament for women in Los Angeles, United States. The tournament was held until November 10, 2003 at the Staples Center on 5.
Kim Clijsters in the singles and the duo Elena Dementieva and Janette Husárová in double were the defending champions.
Winner of the single was Kim Clijsters, who defeated Amélie Mauresmo 6-2 and 6-0. The double title secured Virginia Ruano Pascual / Paola Suárez against Kim Clijsters / Ai Sugiyama 6-4, 3-6 and 6-3.

The top eight ladies of the WTA Tour qualified for this competition. In addition there were two reservists.
Competition mode
In the round-robin tournament phase (English Round Robin ), played four players in two groups each against all. The two winners of each group qualified for the semi-finals, which was held after the knockout system. The winner of each group played against the second of the other group and the winners of these games contested the final.
