2013–14 3. Liga

The 2013/14 season the 3rd Liga is the sixth season of the third highest single-track German league in men's football. The season started on 19 July 2013, and will end on 10 May 2014.

In contrast to the sporting results of the preseason it came to the following two changes in the composition of the third league in the current season:

  • The MSV Duisburg has not been granted the license for the 2nd Bundesliga for economic reasons. The sporty relegated SV Sandhausen remains second-rate.
  • The SV Darmstadt 98 takes the place of Kickers Offenbach, who received a license from the DFB licensing committee on June 1.

Ascent and descent control

The first two teams to rise to directly; third-placed to play in the relegation against third from bottom of the Bundesliga 2 in two play-offs for promotion. The three last-place teams will be relegated to the fourth-rate regional league. The four best teams in the league qualify for the DFB Cup.

Player of the Month / Player of the Year

Together with dfb.de leads the Internet platform fussball.de by election to the third league player of the month. The coaches of the 20 teams in the calendar months with game operation nominate a total of five players, one of whom will be chosen by internet vote for player of the month. At season's end, the monthly winners will stand for election to another internet poll for player of the year.
