2013–14 DFB-Pokal

The DFB Pokal 2013/14 is the 71st edition of the football cup competition of the men. The final will take place at Berlin's Olympic Stadium on May 17, 2014.

The DFB Cup winner gets the right to start in the group stage of the UEFA Europa League 2014 /15 campaign. If the cup winners already qualified on the Bundesliga for the UEFA Champions League or the qualifying round, the loser of the finals is (last time this season ) qualified for the UEFA Europa League. This then must however go into the qualifying round.

The first time was excluded from participation in the DFB Cup with Dynamo Dresden club.

Applications may be made no two teams of an association or a corporation in the Games of the DFB Cup club.

Dates

The rounds will be held on the following dates:

1 Main Round

The draw for the first round was held as part of the sports show on 15 June 2013. The 64 teams were divided into two Lostöpfe according to regulations of the DFB Cup with 32 teams each. In a saucepan the lower division teams were included, the

  • Had qualified through the national association for the DFB Cup (25)
  • Had in the 2012/13 season is the last places in the Bundesliga 2 ( 3 of 4; Dynamo Dresden were excluded ),
  • In the 2012/13 season occupied the first four places in the league had 3 (4).

Each of the 32 teams were drawn against a team from the other Lostopf in which all 18 teams of the 1st Bundesliga and the 14 highest ranked 2nd Bundesliga of the season 2012/ 13 were included. The venue was to teams the former pot. A peculiar feature is the MSV Duisburg, which in each Lostopf a ball shared with FC Erzgebirge Aue, since at the time the draw was like no decision to league affiliation of the MSV Duisburg.

The former German international Nia Künzer moved under the supervision of DFB President Wolfgang Niersbach for the following 2 to August 5, 2013 meetings (in brackets is the league level indicated in the team plays ):

2 Main Round

The pairings of the second main round were on August 10, 2013 as part of the broadcast Saturday LIVE! the pay-TV broadcaster Sky drawn from the German football national team Lena Goessling. This was solved as in the first round of an amateur and a professional pot. Amateur teams were first taken before the professional teams were drawn among themselves.

Second round

The matches of the second round were drawn on September 29, 2013 as part of the sports show by Germany coach Joachim Loew. When drawing ladder served the Secretary General of the Association, Helmut Sandrock.

Quarterfinals

The games of the quarterfinals were drawn on December 8, 2013 as part of the sports scene by the Women's Silvia Neid and DFB goalkeeper coach Andreas Koepke. They took place on 11 and 12 February 2014.

Semifinal

The games of the semi finals were drawn on February 12, 2014 as part of the sports show of the multiple Paralympic swimming champion Kirsten Bruhn and DFB assistant coach Hansi Flick. They take place on 15 and 16 April 2014.

Final

The final will be held on 17 May 2014 for the Berlin Olympic Stadium.

TV awards

Each of the participating teams in a round receives a premium from the TV money. The winner will receive € 500,000 as an added bonus, a total of approximately 6.3 million euros.
