Addicted is the eleventh studio album by Canadian musician Devin Townsend. The album was released on November 17, 2009. It is the second in a series of four albums under the name Devin Townsend Project. Anneke van Giersbergen, ex- singer of The Gathering, worked on Addicted for the first time along with Townsend. She sings a lot of the tracks on the album. The album is the second release of the initiated with Ki Albenzyklusses.

In the United States, the album sold within the first week after release 3700 times what the album earned 200 space 168 on the Billboard Charts. On the Top New Artist Albums ( Heatseekers ) the album took second place. In Finland the album finished in the first week of release 36th place

  • The title " Bend It Like Bender " plays a part in the movie " Bend it like Beckham " as well as on the character Bender from the cartoon series Futurama ( German Bend It Like Beckham ). It contains a short sample of a speech sequence of Bender. Musically, it's inspired by the song " We Like To Party " by the Vengaboys.
  • Townsend came up with to Anneke Giersbergen thereby contacts that they accidentally contacted him shortly before the scheduled start of recording by e -mail. She sent him a link to a video recording of their band, with whom she performed the song " Hyper Drive", which was originally included on Townsend album " Ziltoid the Omniscient ". This convinced Townsend so that he decided to invite both van Giersbergen as a guest vocalist as einzuspielen a new version of " Hyperdrive ".
