The Hummer is the eighth studio album by Canadian musician Devin Townsend and after the 2004 album Devlab the second Ambient project of the artist. It was released on 15 November 2006 at Townsend Record Label HevyDevy Records in a limited edition of 500 copies edition.

Background

The music on The Hummer has nothing remaining with Townsend's publications together that are contrary to this album musically attributable to the progressive metal. Townsend wanted to take a relaxing album where you can relax or to which one can meditate. He described the music as " peaceful ," she lend itself as " background music for thought ".
