The AIDAsol is a cruise ship in the British-American Carnival Corporation & plc. It is used for driving under the specially focused on the German market corporate brand AIDA Cruises. It is operated under the Italian flag by Costa Crociere SpA in Genoa.
The AIDAblu that AIDAmar and Aida Stella are identical sister ships.
History
Her name was announced at the Meyer Werft on November 6, 2009 in Papenburg. With the project name Sphinx V it was after Aida Diva, Aida Bella Aida Luna and AIDAblu the fifth ship of the new AIDA generation. The undocking took place on 27 February 2011, the subsequent Emsüberführung on 11 March 2011. The naming ceremony was held in Kiel on April 9, 2011. The AIDAsol was the first ship AIDA Cruises christened in Kiel. For the first time in the history of AIDA godmother searched online on the Facebook fan page. In another decision-making at the Fanreisen the AIDAsol Bettina Zwickler was chosen from Kiel to the godmother.
Area of application
In the summer of 2012, the AIDAsol sailed the Baltic and took in the winter half year, seven -day trips from Tenerife in the Canary Islands. In 2013 she is traveling all year round Northern Europe, and for the year 2013/14 was the Mediterranean Sea on the plan. In 2014, they will be again in Northern Europe on the road, in winter 2014, it runs instead of " Aida Aura " to Southeast Asia.

The ship is identical to the other Schiffem the modified Sphinx class. The first ship in the fleet of AIDA Cruises AIDAsol received the complete equipment for shore power in July 2013. Subject to the necessary infrastructure on land, the ship in the harbor area can be powered by shore power.
Cabins and onboard facilities
Overall, the ship has 1,097 cabins, including 728 outside cabins features. The spa area is extended to the AIDAsol compared to Aida Diva, Aida Bella and Aida Luna as AIDAblu to 450 m². 34 spa staterooms with spacious balcony with direct access to the wellness area. The AIDAsol features as the previous sister ship AIDAblu its own micro brewery.
