Arpad Šterbik ( Serbian Cyrillic Арпад Штербик ), Hungarian Árpád Sterbik, Spanish Arpad Sterbik Capar ( born November 22, 1979 in Senta, Vojvodina, Yugoslavia ) is a Spanish handball player ( goalkeeper) Hungarian origin from Yugoslavia, even the Serbian and Hungarian citizenship has.

Šterbik began with the handball game at RK Jugović in Kac ( Novi Sad ) in the Yugoslav league. In 2001 he joined the Hungarian series champion Fotex Veszprém, where he won the 2001/2002, 2002/ 03 and 2003/ 04 Hungarian Championship and 2002/ 03 and 2003/ 04 the Hungarian Cup. In 2004 he moved on to BM Ciudad Real in the Spanish league ASOBAL. Here he won the 2006 / 07, 2007/ 08, 2008/ 09 and 2009/10 La Liga 2004/ 05, 2005/ 06, 2006/ 07, 2007/ 08, 2010/11 and 2011/12 ( with the succession team Atlético Madrid) Copa ASOBAL, 2004/ 05 and 2007/ 08 Spanish Super Cup, 2005/ 06, 2007/ 08 and 2008/09 EHF Champions League and in 2005 /06 and 2006/ 07 the club championship. He was elected World Handball Player of the Year in 2005.

Šterbik earned € 310,000 net in Ciudad Real, making it one of the absolute top earners in handball. In summer 2012 he moved to FC Barcelona. With Barcelona he won the 2012/13 championship.

Arpad Šterbik has played 120 international matches for the national teams of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, Serbia and Montenegro, and Serbia. At the World Championships in 1999 and 2001 he won the bronze medal with Yugoslavia respectively.

In January 2008 Šterbik also received the Spanish citizenship.

With the Spanish national team, he won at the 2011 World Championships in turn bronze. Two years later he was with the team world champion. Until January 29, 2014, he played 56 internationals for Spain.
