Arrondissement of Vichy

The Vichy Arrondissement is an administrative district in the department of Allier in the Auvergne region of France.

History

On 4 March 1790, founded with the establishment of the department of Allier, a " district Lapalisse " which was, however, smaller than the present district. The district was expanded with the establishment of the Arrondissements on February 17, 1800, and established as a district Lapalisse.

On September 10, 1926 were added to parts of the resolution at the time arrondissements Gannat.

On August 24, 1941, from the district Lapalisse the district Vichy.

Geography

The district is bordered to the north by the district Moulins, and on the northeast by the district Charolles in the department of Saône- et- Loire ( Burgundy ), in the southeast of the arrondissement Roanne in the Loire department ( Rhone- Alpes), to the south by the arrondissements Thiers Riom in the Puy -de- Dôme and to the west by the district Montlucon.
