Atlanta Silverbacks

The Atlanta Silverbacks FC are an American football franchise from Chamblee, Georgia ( USA) in the Atlanta area. The franchise was founded in 1998 and has been playing the 2011 season in the North American Soccer League, the top division in the North American Football.

History

The franchise was founded in 1998 and in 1999 she took part in the first second-rate A-League. In the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference, the team finished 5th and thus did not qualify for the playoffs themselves. In the 2002 season the Silverbacks reached the playoffs for the first time, but eliminated in the very first round. Four times the Silverbacks were the "Southern Derby " win. Since 2006, the franchise with the " Atlanta Silverbacks U23s " a reserve team in the USL Premier Development League.

In the 2007 season the Silverbacks reached the final of the play-offs had to be there but the Seattle Sounders defeated 4-0.

2009 and 2010 the team took no part in the game mode.

After the dissolution of the USL First Division of the Atlanta Silverbacks FC takes on the new since 2011 - some North American Soccer League - also second-rate. In the first two season, the Silverbacks could not qualify for the playoffs in each case.

Since 2005, the Atlanta Silverbacks Women play in the USL W-League, the second division in the U.S. and Canadian soccer system. In 2011 she won the W-League. The team plays in the Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference.
