Bitschwiller-lès-Thann

Bitschwiller -lès -Thann ( German Bitsch hamlet ) is a commune with 2015 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Haut-Rhin in the Alsace region. It belongs to the district Thann, Thann to Canton and was founded in 1993 Association of Municipalities Pays de Thann.

Geography

The community Bitschwiller -lès- Thann, on the Thur, between the cantonal capital of Thann and Willer- sur -Thur. It is flanked by mountains such as Wake valley head, Grumbach head and ores Bach head and is located in the Regional Natural Park of Ballons des Vosges. Mountain of the municipality is the Thanner Hubel (1180 m), which rises from the west site. The saddle-shaped mountain is used for agriculture: livestock, Melkerei and mountain farm inn. In winter the deforested terrain changed into a separate ski area, away from Straßenverhehr.

A significant valley becomes narrower ( Flurort La Rochelle ) between Bitschwiller and the neighboring village of Thann carries with him that the opposite mountain slopes are just 300 meters apart. The other neighboring community, Willer- sur -Thur, two kilometers up the valley lies.

Bitschwiller -lès -Thann has an SNCF railway station and is connected to the grid of the Department of Roads. The Route Joffre leads over the Col du Hundsruck after Masevaux in the Doller Valley.
