Blažovice

Blažovice ( German Bläswitz, also Blasowitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 13 kilometers east of the center of Brno and belongs to Okres Brno- venkov. In the corridors of the community the battle of Austerlitz took place in 1805.

Geography

Blažovice located between the Drahany country and the Steinitzer forest in the foothills of the Thaya Schwarza valley floor by the stream Romza. North leads past the D1 motorway, the nearest exit 210 is Holubice. Until Blažovice the railway line Brno- Blažovice and the railway lines leading towards Vyškov and Bučovice.

Neighboring towns are Tvarožná in the north, and Kruh Holubice in the northeast, Křenovice the southeast, Zbysov in the south, Prace and Ponětovice in the southwest and Jiříkovice in the West.

History

Archaeological finds evidence of a settlement of the municipality corridors since the Stone Age. The greatest discovery were on the site of the old brickworks body 28 graves from the Bell Beaker culture, have been dated to around 3000 BC.

The first mention was made in 1131 in a directory owned by the Diocese of Olomouc. 1317 donated Catherine of Lomnitz, born of Deblín, the Dominican monastery in Old Brno, among other villages also Velké and Malé Blažovice.

1725 Blasowitzer farm was rebuilt by the Monastery of St. Anna in Brno. The matron Beatrix Luxe Thal had finished this occasion a written in German script plaque that remained. Until the dissolution of the monastery during the Josephine reforms from 1782 Blasowitz belonged to the monastery of goods.

On December 2, 1805 Blasowitz lay in the northeastern part of the battlefield of the Battle of Three Emperors. The village was devastated it. In the corridors and the village remained after the battle torn bodies back of the Fallen. On November 22, 1822 Franz Graf Dietrich stone Proskau bought the manor Blaziowitz of the State Administration of goods and opened it to the Allodialherrschaft Sokolnitz. Last landlords were the counts Mitrovský. In 1934 the church was completed.
