Carmela Corren

Carmela Corren ( born February 13, 1938 as Carmela Bizman in Tel Aviv) is an Israeli pop singer.

Biography and artistic career

Carmela Corren wanted to be a dancer from early childhood. At 15, she began a corresponding education in Israel. Due to an injury, however, she could no longer work as ballroom dancing and moved on to singing. The American television producer Ed Sullivan discovered in 1956 during an engagement in Jerusalem. Carmela made ​​at this time just their military service in the Israeli army from. The entertainer talked her and brought her to New York in his show. She went with Cliff Richard on a tour of South Africa and sang in English club. Later, the artist played in several films ( Musik-/Heimatfilmen ) and television productions. By the early 1960s, Carmela Corren was also known in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. She sang first for the label Ariola, joined Vogue in 1966 and 1968 to Decca.

With the song A Rose from Santa Monica she could achieve a 7th place at the German Schlager- Festival 1962 in Baden -Baden. The plate was able to keep several weeks in the charts then.
