Čebín

Čebín ( German Tschebin, formerly Tschepin ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located six kilometers south-east of Tišnov and belongs to Okres Brno- venkov.

Geography

Čebín is located on the southwestern foot of the hill Čebínka ( 433 m) in the Bosko brázda. The village is located on the left side of the creek Čebínský creek opposite the mouth of the creek Sentický. To the east rise the Zlobice ( 394 m) and the Převych (364 m), in the southeastern Čebínský Kopec ( 369 m ) south of the Dalka (345 m ) in the west of Sokolí ( 398 m ) and northwest of the Straz.

Neighboring towns are Drásov in the north, and Malhostovice Lipůvka in the northeast, Kuřim and Moravské Knínice to the southeast, and Podhájí Chudčice in the south, Holasice the southwest, Sentice in the west and Brezina and Hradcany in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village was in 1353, when the Lords of Čebín bought a farm in Radostice of Kuneš of Měnín. After the extinction of the race of Čebín its goods fell home to the Margrave of Moravia at the end of the 14th century. 1412 sold Jobst of Moravia, the Good Čebín including all accessories for 300 Prague groschen shock to Jan of Lomnice, which it struck his reign Lomnice. Since the first half of the 18th century was taught in Čebín. Until the mid-19th century Čebín remained subservient always Lomnice.

After the abolition of patrimonial Čebín formed in 1850 a municipality in the district of Brno and judicial district Tischnowitz. In 1880, the volunteer fire department founded and acquired a four-wheeled fire engine team of Hiller & widow. The syringe produced in 1879 is functional today. 1886 a new school house was inaugurated in Čebín. Since 1896 Čebín belonged to the newly formed district Tischnowitz. After the dissolution of Okres Tišnov the community came with the beginning of 1961 to Okres Brno- venkov. Since 2003 Čebín leads a coat of arms and banners. On the hills around Čebín limestone is mined in a long time, now stands on the southern slope of a limestone quarry Čebínka in operation. Čebín is now also vicarage for Sentice.

Attractions

  • Parish Church of St. George, the original Gothic building from the second half of the 14th century received its Baroque appearance in the rebuilding after the fire of 1772.
  • Čebínka hill with several limestone quarries. At the summit there is a 38 m high steely telecommunications transmission tower. In 2003, a viewing platform has been released in 30 m height.
  • Natural monuments Malhostovická pecka and Drásovský kopeček, northeast of Čebínka, two Devonkalkriffe with population of dog rose, Great Kuhschelle, red dogwood, blackthorn, privet and hazel bushes.
  • Amphitheater in the former limestone quarry at Kamínec, southeast of the village
  • Natural Monument Zlobice, east of Čebín
  • Nature Reserve Na lesní horce, south of Čebín
  • Mounds of unfinished Reichsautobahn Vienna Wroclaw, south-east of the village, the northernmost site incision is protected as a nature reserve Obůrky - Třeštěnec since 1980.
