Christian Friedrich von Leins

Christian Friedrich von Leins (* November 22, 1814 in Stuttgart, † August 25, 1892 ) was a German architect.

Life

Leins attended until 1837 the Frederick Eugene High School in Stuttgart. In 1843 he made ​​study trips to Bavaria and Austria to buildings of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. As the Queen's court architect, he traveled in 1844, together with the Crown Prince of Württemberg to Italy to plan the construction of the Villa Mountain. In 1858 he became a professor at the Technical University in Stuttgart later. Having already taken over 1870-1872 and 1878-1880 twice the managing committee, founded in 1869, initially specialized school of architecture from the Polytechnic assigned Stuttgart Arts and Crafts School, he was from 1881 until his death in their first permanent Board.

1872 Leins was awarded the Knight's Cross of the First Class of the Order of the Württemberg Crown, which was connected with the personal titles of nobility. In 1879 he received the crown to the Knight's Cross. He died in 1892 at his home in the Uhland Road 23 in Stuttgart. His grave is located in the Prague cemetery Stuttgart. His legacy is preserved in the Stuttgart University Library.
