Cuautitlán is a municipality in the Mexican state of México. It belongs to the Zona Metropolitana del Valle de México, the metropolitan region around Mexico City. The administrative seat and largest town of the Municipalities is the city of Cuautitlán; other large places are Galaxia Cuautitlán, San Mateo Ixtacalco, La Providencia, Santa María Huecatitla and Barrio Tlatenco.

The county had in the year 2010 140.059 inhabitants, its surface area is 26.3 km ².

Geography

Cuautitlán located in the northeast of the State of Mexico, about 15 km north of the Distrito Federal.

The municipality borders the Municipalities Cuautitlán Izcalli, Teoloyucan, Melchor Ocampo, Tultepec and Tultitlán.
