Dakoussa is a rural municipality in the Department Takeita in Niger.

Geography

Dakoussa lies in the Sahel. The neighboring municipalities are Olléléwa the northwest, WAME in the northeast, Albarkaram in the east, in the southeast Gaffati, Zinder in the south-west and Tirmini in the West. The municipality is divided into 41 administrative villages, 69 villages and 81 hamlets traditional. The main town of the rural community is the administrative village Dakoussa.

History

The French colonial administration set up in the early 20th century, a canton in Dakoussa one whose canton chief of the Sultan of Zinder certain. 2002 emerged the rural community Dakoussa as part of a nationwide administrative reform from the Canton Dakoussa. Since 2011 part of the rural community not to Mirriah Department, but for the newly established Department Takeita.

Population

At the 2001 census Dakoussa had 38 746 inhabitants. For the year 2010 52.608 inhabitants were calculated.

Economy and infrastructure

Dakoussa located in a zone is run in the Agropastoralismus. Due to the rural community of the National Road 11 runs between the town of Zinder in the south and about 420 road kilometers from the city of Agadez in the north. Directly located on the National Road, still in the municipality of Dakoussa, the major administrative village Aroungouza.
