Albarkaram (also: Alberkaram ) is a rural municipality in the Department Damagaram Takaya in Niger.

Geography

Albarkaram located in the Sahel region in consisting of crystalline quartzites Alberkaram massif northeast of the city of Zinder. The neighboring municipalities are Albarkarams WAME in the north, Damagaram Takaya in the east, the south and Gaffati Dakoussa in the West. The municipality is divided into 25 administrative villages, eleven traditional villages and 31 hamlets. The main town of the country church is the administrative village Albarkaram (also: Alberkaram ).

History

The rural community Albarkaram went out in 2002 as part of a nationwide administrative reform from the Canton Albarkaram. Since 2011 part of the rural community not to Mirriah Department, but for the newly established Department Damagaram Takaya.

Population

At the 2001 census Albarkaram had 10,993 inhabitants. For the year 2010 14.926 inhabitants were calculated. In Albarkaram members of especially remote pasture operated Tuareg subgroup Ichiriffen live.
