Démuin

Démuin is a northern French village with 485 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Somme in the Picardie region. The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Montdidier, is part of the Communauté de communes Avre Luce Moreuil, in the canton Moreuil.

Geography

The church in the countryside Santerre is situated on both sides of the Luce at the Department of Roads D23 Moreuil by Corbie, D43 Albert, D76 and D137, about 7 km northeast of Moreuil. In the south, Démuin extends to beyond the Department road D934 (formerly Route nationale 334). The municipality is part of the Opposite of Aubercourt hamlet Courcelles.

History

In Démuin formerly stood a castle. The embattled especially in 1918 community received the Croix de guerre as a distinction from 1914 to 1918.
