Édouard Thilges

Jules Georges Édouard Thilges ( born February 17, 1817 in Clervaux, † July 9, 1904 in Luxembourg ) was a Luxembourgian politician.

From 1833 to 1838 Thilges studied law in Brussels and Liege. In 1841, he became a lawyer at the court in Diekirch.

From 1854 to 1856 he was Director General (Minister ) for Municipal Affairs and 1859-1860 of the Interior in the government Simons. From 1867 to 1870 he was Director General of community affairs again, this time under the government Servais.

On February 20, 1885 Thilges was appointed Minister of State and government president, a post he held until September 22, 1888. From 1888 to 1895 he was then President of the State Council.
