Egyptian Premier League

The Egyptian Premier League (Arabic الدوري المصري الممتاز Al- Dawriy al -Masri al - Mommtāz ) is a professional football league and the highest division in Egyptian football.

The three most famous clubs are al Ahly Cairo, al Zamalek SC and Ismaily SC. The league consists of 16 teams, each deliver an outward and a return match against each other.

Currently, the league officially called Etisalat Egyptian Premier League after the Emirati Communications Company has negotiated a contract with the national federation. No more than three foreign players to play in a club.

The 2010/11 season was interrupted by the January 27, 2011 until April 13, 2011 due to the revolution in Egypt.
