The 40th Euro Vision Song Contest took place on 13 May 1995 at the Point Theatre in Dublin instead. Estonia, Finland, Lithuania, Netherlands, Romania, Switzerland and Slovakia had to put in a year of forced break after their performance in the recent ESC. For Belgium, Denmark, Israel, Slovenia and Turkey were there again.

Special

For Germany, the producer and musician couple Glen & Cheyenne Stone took part, as the Stone & Stone in the summer of 1993, I Wish You Were Here was a top 40 success in Germany. They went with the self- composed and produced titles In love with you at (the first title of the religious couple in German language ) were given only one point from Malta and landed on the 23rd and last place. Austria came up with Stella Jones and The world turns upside down in 13th place, Switzerland did not participate and thus was missing for the first time in the competition's history.

Macedonia had the singer Karolina Gočeva selected for the contest with the song Me Sakas, however, the participation pulled back again, because the Macedonian television, they could not finance. In addition, the singer had reached just before the competition her sixteenth year of life and, consequently, was almost a year under the age limit, so that a start permission would not have been safe.

1 English is an official language alongside Maltese from Malta, Malta why could compete with English-language songs, as the songs were sung in their own language.
