FC Swift Hesperange

Swift Hesperingen ( Luxembourgish Swift Hesper, officially: Football Club Swift Hesperange ) is a Luxembourgian football club, currently playing in the highest league Luxembourg, the National Division.

History

The club was founded in 1916. During the German occupation in the Second World War, the club was called from 1940 FV Red-White Hesperingen. In 1944, the return naming FC Swift Hesperange.

The biggest success of the club was winning the Coupe de Luxembourg in 1990 against AS Differdange, which Swift also allowed to compete internationally for the first time.

In Europe Cup Winners' Cup in the 1990/1991 season Swift had already failed in the first round of the Polish representatives Legia Warsaw 0:3 and 0:3.
