Franz Asplmayr

Franz Aspelmayr (also: Aspelmeyr, Aspelmayer, Asplmayr, Appel Meyer) ( born April 2, 1728 in Linz, † July 29, 1786 in Vienna) was an Austrian composer.

The son of Johann Aspelmayer was baptized in the Baptist church in Linz. He received from his father in Linz violin lessons. 1761, he took over as successor Gluck the activities of the ballet composer at the German theater in Vienna. In the musical life of the Haydn - Mozart's time it plays a role as a creator of divertimenti, operas, ballets, and probably also of singing games.
