Golden Beach is a city in Miami -Dade County in the U.S. state of Florida with 919 inhabitants (as of 2010).
Geography
The city is located between the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean, about 15 km north of Miami. Adjacent municipalities are Sunny Isles Beach and Aventura (Miami- Dade ) and Hallandale Beach ( Broward ).
Demographics
According to the 2010 census, the then 919 inhabitants distributed in 355 households. The population density was 1,021.1 inh. / Km ². 97.8 % of the population were white, 1.7% African American and 0.3 % Asian Americans. 0.1 % were members of other ethnic groups and no different ethnicities. 26.2 % of the population were Hispanic or Latino.
In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 30 % of all households lived in 43.6 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 82.2 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 3.20 persons and the average family size is 3.51 people.
31.2% of the population were younger than 20 years, 16.0% were 20-39 years old, 34.7 % were 40-59 years old and 17.9 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 42 years. 49.8 % of the population were male and 50.2 % female.
The average annual income was $ 151,875, while 12.4 % of the population lived below the poverty line.
In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 55.00 % of the population spoke Spanish 35.09 % and 9.91% had a different mother tongue.
Traffic
By Golden Beach runs the Florida State Road A1A. The nearest airport is Fort Lauderdale- Hollywood International Airport, about 12 km north of the city.
Crime
The crime rate in 2010 was 189 points ( U.S. average: 266 points ) in the low range. There was an assault, six burglaries, thefts and 20 three car thefts.
