Grigorijs Panteļejevs

Grigory Panteļejevs ( born November 13, 1972 in Gastello, Sakhalin, Russian SFSR ) is a former Latvian ice hockey player.

Career

Grigory Panteļejevs began his playing career in the offspring of Dinamo Riga. In the season 1990/91 he played for the first time for the first team Dinamo in the Soviet Hockey League. In the spring of 1992, the Boston Bruins hosted a scouting camp in Latvia. Since Panteļejevs was able to convince the leaders of the Bruins, they chose him in the NHL Entry Draft in 1992 in the sixth round to 136th place out. DC the following season he made his debut in the NHL and played a total of 39 NHL games in which reach eight goals and six assists him. In the remaining games of the season he went for the Providence Bruins in the American Hockey League on the ice. Until 1995, he played for the Boston Bruins and the Providence Bruins before he signed a contract with the New York Islanders as a free agent. However, it was used in only four NHL games played and otherwise at the Utah Grizzlies of the International Hockey League. Further stations were IHL Las Vegas Thunder, Orlando Solar Bears and San Antonio Dragons.

In summer 1999, he signed a contract with the Hannover Scorpions, for whom he scored 21 goals and 30 assists in the DEL. After this commitment in Germany, he moved only in the Russian Super League for Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, then to Södertälje SK in Sweden, later to EHC Olten and finally to HK Riga 2000. In the following season, he moved first to the Finnish first division Pelicans, but returned to 40 playing back to Riga. About the IFK Arboga he came in 2005 to HK Dmitrov, but moved shortly afterwards to EV train or HC Martigny. The end of season 2005/ 06 he graduated in Italy for HC Bolzano. In the season 2006/ 07 he played again for Martigny, but at the end of the season he increased the SG Pontebba. In summer 2007, he signed a one year contract with the Austrian second division EK Zell am See.

On 4 February 2008, the German second division EV Landsberg 2000 was the obligation of Panteļejevs known. The striker comes on the recommendation of Oleg Znaroks, but is struggling initially to an injury and was not until the end of February his debut for Landsberg. At the end of the season, he finished his career.

Internationally

Grigory Panteļejevs has played in nine World Championships and the Olympic Winter Games in 2002 and 2006 for the Latvian national ice hockey team.
