Groß Godems

Great Godems is a municipality in the district of Ludwigsburg pleasure Parchim in Mecklenburg -Vorpommern ( Germany ). It is administered by the Office Parchimer surrounding headquartered in Parchim.

Geography and transport

About half of its territory is covered by forest. Great Godems located in a very hilly moraine landscape. The biggest hill is the Tobias mountain with 103 meters above sea level. NHN in the far east. Larger parts of the municipality is forested. Worth mentioning is the forest area Godemser firs. Larger lakes or rivers there is in the municipality no. History

Great Godems was mentioned in 1291, first documented as a villa Wodamiz. The name comes from the Slavic word voda for water. The place name could mean so place the watercourse.
