Harbach is a municipality in the district of Old Churches ( Westerwald) in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality of Churches ( victory ).

Geography
Harbach is a place in northern Rhineland -Palatinate. It is thus in the border region between the Westerwald, winner Country and Wild Freiburgische country. The place is situated in two valleys and is divided into three districts: Locherhof ( through the holes of the creek flows ), Hinhausen (through the Hinhausenerbach flows ) and Harbach (where the confluence of the streams ).

The municipality is divided into the three districts Harbach, Hinhausen and Locherhof.
History
In 1235 a place Hunhausen ( Hinhausen ) was first mentioned in documentary; 1520 was the first recorded mention of Harbach. 1587 were counted in Harbach already 9 fireplaces; 1787 were in place 21 households to meet with 186 inhabitants. In 1815 he had 233 inhabitants, Harbach is " Prussian "; 1822 a school in Harbach was Gabut; the construction of another school in Hinhausen done 1907. 1953 the Catholic Church was inaugurated. On 7 June 1969, the district was Oberasdorf umgemeindet with 124 inhabitants according Niederfischbach.
For a long time, agriculture was paired with the Haubergswirtschaft the main source of income of the villagers. In later years came the mining industry. Today, few people work right in town.
Population Development
From 1939 to 2002, the number of inhabitants grew from 411 people to 614 people. In the period 1968-2002 the number of residential buildings to grow from 112 to 178.

The local council in Harbach consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.
