Isert
Isert is a municipality in the district of Old Churches ( Westerwald) in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Old churches.
Geographical location
Isert lies in a meadow valley surrounded by several forest areas, a few hundred meters from the main road 256 between old churches and Roth at the victory. Other neighboring towns are helmets Rother height in the north, the south and Eichelhardt Racksen in the northwest.
To Isert include the districts Kohlhardt and sun room.
History
The name is derived from the previous Isert Eissenrodt, which suggests that iron was mined here earlier. Old Rennöfen in Marienthal forest prove this.

Parish council
The local council in Isert consists of six council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.
Economy
Isert is still an agricultural center with full-time and part-time cultivated areas, supplemented by a number of smaller commercial establishments.
