Harlingen–Nieuweschans railway
The railway Harlingen Nieuwe Schans, approved as Staatslijn B, is a scale on August 18, 1860 by the State of the Netherlands railway connection between Harlingen and Nieuweschans ( Bad Nieuweschans ) along Leeuwarden and Groningen. The line is not electrified.
History
The railway provided a link between the port of Harlingen and the northern provincial capitals and Germany. The line was built in stages from east to west:
- October 27, 1863: Harlingen, Leeuwarden
- June 1, 1866: Leeuwarden - Groningen
- May 1, 1868: Groningen Winschoten
- November 1, 1868: Winschoten - Nieuweschans
- November 26, 1867: Nieuweschans - border
Stations and their buildings
The station buildings were usually to model plans of the Maatschappij tot Explotatie run van Staatsspoorwegen (SS). These were divided into five classes.
