Häutligen

Häutligen (pronounced by locals as Hütlige ) is a municipality in the Bern-Mittelland administrative district in the canton of Bern in Switzerland.

Geography

Häutligen is located at 762 meters above sea level. M., 3 km south-southwest of Konolfingen and 12 km north of the city of Thun (air line). The farming village extends a scenic location on the gently against the Aare valley sloping down towards the western slope of the mountain hole, approximately 230 m above the Aareniederung, in the pre-Alpine hills.

The area of ​​3.0 km ² large municipality area includes a portion of the pre-Alpine hills east of the Aare valley. For the Forest Hills area of hole mountain ( 846 m above sea level. History

The territory of Häutligen was probably already inhabited during the time of the Celts. Here, various individual finds and grave mounds were found from the La Tène period. The first written mention of the village was carried out in 1240 under the name Hutlingen and Huitlingen. Later, the names Huettlingen ( 1452 ) and Häutligen (1838 ) published. The name goes back to the Old High German personal name Hutilo and accordingly is with the people of Hutilo.

Since the Middle Ages belonged Häutligen various lords, including the Senn family of Münsingen. The sovereignty over the area was in 1406 by the Counts of Kyburg to Bern, and Häutligen was henceforth subordinated to the district court Konolfingen. After the collapse of the Ancien Régime (1798 ), the village belonged to the district during the Helvetic Höchstetten and from 1803 to Oberamt Konolfingen, which was given the status of an office district with the new cantonal constitution of 1831.

Population

With 252 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) Häutligen one of the small communities of the Canton of Bern. Of the inhabitants of respondents to the 2000 census 99.6 % German as their native language. The population of Häutligen amounted in 1850 to 264 residents in 1900 to 263 inhabitants. During the 20th century, the population fluctuated always in the range 210-270 people.

Economy

Häutligen was until the second half of the 20th century, mainly coined by farming village. Even today, the dairy industry, cattle breeding and fruit growing have an important place in the economic structure of the population. Some other jobs are in the local retail industry and the services available. In recent decades, the village has developed thanks to its attractive location into a residential community. Many workers are therefore commuters who work mainly in Konolfingen and in the Bern -Thun.

Traffic

The community is located off the major thoroughfares, but is easily accessible from Münsingen. The nearest links to the motorway A6 ( Bern- Thun) is located about 8 km from the town center. Häutligen has no connection to the public transport network.

Attractions

In the old town characteristic farmhouses of the Bernese country style from the 17th to 19th centuries have been preserved. The oldest building is considered a store that was built in 1570. Häutligen does not have its own church, it belongs to the parish Konolfingen.
