The HIStory World Tour was Michael Jackson's third and final solo world tour that went through Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa and the United States that was launched on September 7, 1996 in Prague and ended on 15 October 1997 in Durban.

There were a total of 82 concerts on five continents in 35 countries. With around 4.5 million visitors worldwide Jackson broke his own record for the longest tour, which was the Bad tour until then. In Germany alone, 500,000 tickets were sold at that time. Also with the HIStory World Tour Jackson broke his prepared with the Bad World Tour record for the highest grossing tour of all time, the total revenue amounted to 165 million U.S. dollars.

  • The opening concert in Prague was with over 120,000 fans the most visited Jackson concert of all time.
  • In countries such as Malaysia and Tunisia Jackson parts changed from its choreography. As these countries were Muslim religion, the handle was left out in the crotch. The song " Dangerous" was also taken in some Muslim countries from the setlist.
  • In the first show in Sydney 1996 Michael Jackson sang due to technical problems "Beat It" fully live.
  • At the concert in Jerudong Park, Brunei, the lift was missing due to lack of space. Thus, "Beat It" and " Earth Song " is shown with a slightly different choreography.
  • At the concert in Bucharest, Romania, Jackson contributed the song thriller a red leather jacket instead of the white jacket normally used.
