House of Valois-Anjou

The recent House of Anjou (also called House of Valois -Anjou ) was a collateral line of the house of Valois, which had in 1356 ( awarded the title of Count of Anjou ) split off from the main line. It is descended from Louis of France, a younger son of King John II (Jean II ), who is also the younger House of Burgundy in 1363 enabled except the line Anjou.

Count Louis of Anjou in 1380 of Joanna I, Queen of Naples adopted (from the earlier House of Anjou ) and thus appointed heir, could not enforce its claims in Naples, certainly not in the defunct Kingdom of Jerusalem, but in the Provence. In the third generation the Younger House of Anjou inherited the Duchy of Lorraine, but fifty year later for lack of sons was lost again.
