Human chain

As a human chain a number of many people is called, which is formed in contrast to the active queue for performing a particular task or for the demonstration of political will. Here, the hand is often given.

The formation of a human chain may also be confined to the passing of objects, such as water buckets in a fire ( then it is called a bucket ), sandbags during flood or a wide variety of things in the game.

Human chains as a form of demonstrations often stretch it a great distance between different places or a ring around a location. One of the greatest human chains was the Baltic Way: Around two million people are stressed in August 1989, a chain of more than 600 kilometers to the independence-minded Baltic Soviet republics of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
