In the Heart of the Young is the title of the second studio album, published in 1991 by the U.S. hard rock band Winger.

Background

The self-titled debut album by Winger had in the U.S. number 21 on the Billboard 200 and all three coupled-out singles the Billboard Hot 100 had reached; Winger went platinum. The band then went as support for Ozzy Osbourne, Scorpions and King's X on tour, another tour with Cinderella and the Bullet Boys followed.

To prepare for the second album hired singer and bassist Kip Winger a house in Benedict Canyon in Los Angeles, where the band first demos worked the title Miles Away, which was written by Paul Taylor and one of the out-coupled Singles # 12 in the United States and reached number 56 in the UK, was created in 1986 and picked up by Taylor, Kip Winger and the former Alice Cooper drummer Ken Mary as a demo.

In the Heart for the Young was again produced by Beau Hill. It contained eleven tracks, three of which were published, namely Can not Get Enuff, Miles Away and Easy Come, Easy Go as singles. The title All I Ever Wanted and Never were indeed completed and recorded but not released on the album.

For the album tour Paul Taylor was replaced by John Roth. The band toured the U.S. has with KISS, Extreme, ZZ Top and Slaughter, in Europe she performed on 25 November 1990 ( Florence) to January 26, 1991 ( Gothenburg ) the preliminary program of the Scorpions on their Crazy World Tour.
