Irina Belova (athlete)

Irina Nikolaevna Belova (Russian Ирина Николаевна Белова, English transcription Irina Belova, . Born March 27, 1968 in Angarsk ) is a Russian athlete who was successful in the 1990s in the heptathlon. She is 1,75 m tall and had a competition weight of 61 kg.

Irina Belova won four international medals:

  • SILVER at the XV. 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona
  • BRONZE at the 1991 World Championships in Tokyo
  • SILVER at the European Indoor Championships 1998 in Valencia
  • SILVER at the World Indoor Championships in Maebashi in 1999

Without medal success, she participated in two other European Championships:

At the 2001 World Championships in Edmonton it came with 6061 points at No. 8 ( The winner was Elena Prokhorova with 6694 pts). Then she ended her career.

In 1992 they won their only national championship ( 6523 pts).

In 1993, she was locked after a positive doping test for 4 years.
