JÄnis Andersons
Jānis Andersons ( born October 7, 1986 in Riga, Latvian SSR) is a Latvian ice hockey player who is under contract with HK Kompanion Kiev in the Ukrainian Hockey League since September 2012.
Career
Jānis Andersons began his career as a hockey player in his hometown, where he from 2001 to 2003 for the HK Prizma Riga in the Latvian Hockey League, and the Division B of the East European Hockey League, as well as in the season 2002/ 03 for the Riga HK 2000 was active in the East European Hockey League. Then the defender spent three years in the junior sections of the Swedish Hockey Club Stocksunds IF and AIK Ishockey and Almtuna, and it may additionally also for the first team AIK in the third-class Division 1 and professional team of Almtuna came in the second-rate HockeyAllsvenskan used.
The 2006/07 season started Anderson at his former club HK Riga 2000, Latvia and finished it at Vsetínská hokejová in the Czech Extraliga. He then spent during its league rivals HC Ocelari Třinec up to his end of the contract following the 2009/10 season for another three seasons in the Extraliga. For the 2010/11 season he returned to his Latvian homeland and joined there Dinamo Riga of the Kontinental Hockey League to. For Dinamo he came in the next two years to a few KHL missions and played otherwise for the HK Liepaja Metalurgs in the Belarusian Extraliga.
In August 2012, he completed a trial and two games of the European Trophy for KLH Chomutov, but received no contract. A short time later he was hired by HK Kompanion Kiev of the Ukrainian Hockey League.
Internationally
For Latvia, Andersons took at junior level at the U18 Junior B World Championships in 2003 and 2004, as well as the U20 Junior B World Cup 2005 and the Under-20 Junior World Cup in 2006 in part. In the senior level, he stood in his country's squad for the qualification for the Olympic Winter Games 2010 in Vancouver, as well as at the World Cup 2010 in Germany.
