Jasenová

Jasenová (Hungarian Jaszenova ) is a municipality in Okres Dolny Kubin within the Žilinský in Slovakia.

The village lies between the mountains in the north and Orava Magura Chočské Hills in the south at the confluence of several streams. It is off the main road 59 ( E 77 ) between Dolny Kubin (5 km to the north ) and Ružomberok (11 km south ).

The village was first mentioned in writing in 1320, at that time the settlement by the nobleman M. Bobrovnický to Liptau, an ancestor of the family Čaplovič was founded. In the 16th century there was the rural district along the trade route in the Liptau addition, 1618 was the Squire's family Bencúr down in place.

1860 and 1897, the place was coming from the Choc Mountains by devastating floods devastated. The classical Protestant church was built in 1836.
