Jilotepec is a municipality in the Mexican state of México. The seat of Municipalities and its largest city is Jilotepec de Molina Enríquez. The nearest large towns in the municipality of Las Huertas are, San Pablo Huantepec, canalejas and San Miguel de la Victoria.

The community had in 2010 83.755 inhabitants, its surface area is 587.9 km ². Much of the area is used for agriculture.

Geography

Jilotepec located in the north of the State of Mexico, about halfway between Mexico City and Santiago de Querétaro.

The municipality borders the Municipalities Jilotepec Polotitlan, Soyaniquilpan de Juárez, Chapa de Mota, Timilpan and Aculco as well as to the state of Hidalgo.
