Jiří Tlustý

Jiri Tlusty ( born March 16, 1988 in Slany, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech ice hockey player standing since 2009 with the Carolina Hurricanes in the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Jiri Tlusty began his career in the youth teams of HC Kladno, which is known for its good youth work and already NHL - leading players such as Jaromir Jagr, Patrik Elias and Tomáš Kaberle has produced. At 14 he was already playing in Kladno U18 team, outperforming team-mates and opponents, who were up to four years older. In 2003, he was then employed in the U20 Junior and here he was able to prevail, so that he was already in the season 2005 / 06, used in the men's team of HC Kladno, which plays in the Czech Extraliga. Due to the above-average talent and the uncanny ability to assert Tlusty was selected in the first round during the NHL Entry Draft in 2006 to 13 out of the Maple Leafs ( drafted ).

In the summer of 2006 he signed a three -year contract with the Maple Leafs and moved to North America to the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League, who had secured the rights to CHL CHL Import Draft Tlusty during 2005. In the season 2006/ 07 he had to contend with an elbow injury and led the Greyhounds won the semi-finals of the OHL playoffs. In addition to its operations in the OHL, he also completed a few games in the American Hockey League for the Toronto Marlies, the farm team of the Maple Leafs.

In the summer of 2007, he first took part in the Prospect Camp Maple Leafs before he denied the training camp and preparing for games in the NHL squad the Leafs. However, he did not make the jump to the NHL squad initially, but was reinstated at the Marlies in the AHL. On 26 October 2007 he made his debut in the NHL against the Pittsburgh Penguins and scored in this game, two goals. From this point Tlusty was a member of the continuously NHL squad of the Toronto Maple Leafs. In the first draft of the Continental Junior Hockey League in the summer of 2009, he was selected in the second round by 43 out of Atlant Mytischtschi, which thus secured his transfer rights upon a change in the KHL.

Internationally

Jiri Tlusty has participated in three international championships in his career: For the U18 junior national team, he participated in the U18 Junior World Championship in 2005 and 2006. He was also appointed in the U20 junior national team in 2006 and participated with this at the U20 Junior World Cup in 2006.
